  40.                             1.  DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  42.           Shareware distribution gives users a chance   to try software
  43.       before buying it.   If you try a  Shareware program and  continue
  44.       using  it, you  are  expected  to  register.  Individual programs
  45.       differ on  details  -- some  request   registration while  others
  46.       require   it,  some  specify  a   maximum   trial period.    With
  47.       registration,  you  get  anything   from   the  simple  right  to
  48.       continue using the software to an updated  program  with  printed
  49.       manual.

  51.       1.1  Copyright

  53.           Copyright  laws  apply  to   both  Shareware   and commercial
  54.       software, and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few
  55.       specific  exceptions  as  stated  below.  Shareware authors   are
  56.       accomplished programmers,  just like  commercial authors, and the
  57.       programs are  of comparable  quality. (In  both cases, there  are
  58.       good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method
  59.       of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
  60.       and distribute the  software,  either to all   and sundry or to a
  61.       specific    group.    For   example,   some   authors     require
  62.       written permission before  a  commercial  disk  vendor  may  copy
  63.       their Shareware.

  65.       1.2  Licence

  67.           ImgFun is a "shareware program" and  is provided at no charge
  68.       to  the   user  for evaluation.    Feel  free to share   it  with
  69.       your friends, but please  do not  give it away altered or as part
  70.       of another system.  The essence of  "user-supported"  software is
  71.       to provide   personal   computer   users   with  quality software
  72.       without  high  prices,   and   yet   to  provide   incentive  for
  73.       programmers   to  continue   to  develop new  products.  If   you
  74.       find  this  program  useful and find   that you are  using ImgFun
  75.       and continue to  use ImgFun  after  a  reasonable   trial period,
  76.       you   must    make         a registration payment  of $35.00   to
  77.       Speedy  Software.   The $35.00  registration   fee  will  license
  78.       one   copy for use  on  any   one computer  at any one time.  You
  79.       must  treat this software just like  a book.  An  example is that
  80.       this  software   may  be  used  by any number of people  and  may
  81.       be   freely  moved  from  one  computer location to  another,  so
  82.       long   as there  is  no possibility   of  it being   used at  one
  83.       location while  it's  being  used  at   another.  Just as  a book
  84.       cannot  be read by two different persons at the same time.

  92.       1.3  DISCLAIMER - AGREEMENT

  94.           Users   of ImgFun must   accept  this         disclaimer   of
  95.       warranty: "ImgFun is  supplied  as is.   The author disclaims all
  96.       warranties,  expressed    or   implied,    including,     without
  97.       limitation,    the warranties  of merchant ability and of fitness
  98.       for  any  purpose.  The   author    assumes  no     liability for
  99.       damages,  direct   or  consequential,   which may result from the
  100.       use of ImgFun".

  102.       1.4  Try before you pay

  104.           Shareware is a distribution method, not  a  type of software.
  105.       You should find software that suits  your  needs  and pocketbook,
  106.       whether it's  commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  107.       fitting  your needs easier, because you  can try before you  buy.
  108.       And because the overhead is  low, prices are  low also. Shareware
  109.       has  the ultimate money-back  guarantee  -- if you  don't use the
  110.       product, you don't pay for it.

  112.       1.5  PRIVILEGES FOR REGISTRATION

  114.           You are  encouraged  to pass  a copy of ImgFun along  to your
  115.       friends for evaluation.   Please encourage them to register their
  116.       copies if they find that they can use it.  Registered users  will
  117.       receive a  copy   of   the         latest   version  of   ImgFun+
  118.       some bonus utilities   developed  from  the feed back  of  users.
  119.       At    this date   of   writing    ,    the  bonus  includes stand
  120.       alone conversion programs  for gif, jpg  and   pki formats,  ,  a
  121.       print  out  program  for Epson  compatible  dot  matrix printers,
  122.       print   out  programs  for   HP laser jets  or  compatibles,  the
  123.       complete   LHA and LZEXE packages for excellent   lossless   data
  124.       compression, the  high  speed  US  BBS list  and information  for
  125.       obtaining  computer   images and shareware from BBSes.       This
  126.       package is  packed  to  serve the need  of data compression    to
